Well, this has been interesting.

I did end up writing that Control Freak rewrite climax blurb, the first version where Jessie attacks James directly. I like it so much, I don't think I'll even attempt the version where she sics the Pokemon on him instead. I also figure I probably will write the actual, full-length fic.
(I also wonder how long it will be before people start throwing things at me since I can't seem to refrain from getting James in trouble in any fic he's in. It reminds me of how I couldn't stop doing that when writing Marik or Doom Bikers fics. All the plunnies that come to me involve such scenarios....)
I kind of want to illustrate the fight in that blurb, too, the point where mask-corrupted Jessie runs James through and Ash and company are just coming in and watching in horror. Yikes, though, that would sure get an M rating on dA or whatever their equivalent is for graphic violence. Wouldn't be the first time I've drawn something that needed to go behind an M warning, though. Every now and then I've drawn stabbings, impalings, and the like. I passed one on Side 7 just now where Yami Marik stabbed Marik in the back. Then I had one with Sephiroth fighting with Gunju Rakesh, which was a scenario and story I came up with to explain the very visible scar he has on his collarbone in Advent Children. The picture had Gunju stabbing him there. Made the mistake of showing that one to Lizzie when she was eating, oops. I still feel bad about that. I didn't think it was that graphic, but I did a better job with it than I thought, I guess. Then I did one with Yami Bakura run through by a spear and staring at it in shock, and I think a follow-up with Bakura freaking out and trying to tend to him. And one where Duke was impaled by sharp ice crystals trying to save David from dying again.... Yeah. And I have one with Vincent stabbed, although it doesn't show the actual act. But it shows the knife in his back.
Then I also got distracted by an idea from another conversation I was having, involving the concept of Jessie, James, and Meowth working as double agents against the organization. I had been toying with that for a while, and then the idea involved the collapse of Team Rocket HQ ... literally. Giovanni set the building to go and was trying to escape in a helicopter once it became obvious that the place was being raided. The trio was with Ash and then kicked him out of a sector to keep him safe, admitted they were the ones who had been passing on information, and sealed the metal door between them so they could go try to get Giovanni. They prevented his escape, but then they were all caught in the building's collapse. Giovanni and the Persian were hurt but alive. The trio was buried in the collapse and thought dead once they were dug out. Of course, they were alright and not seriously injured once they woke up. Hooray for real-world physics not applying much in the Pokemon world. LOL.
As much as I don't want to screw up the status quo in my main timeline, I'm toying with the idea of this as a separate, albeit future, timeline. I.E., it would be what I consider happens in the future of my main timeline; I'm just not sure when. That is how I think I'd want the Team Rocket organization to collapse and then, judging by the interaction between the trio and Ash in that blurb and my other fics, it might work out to have them travel with Ash. I thought that would never work, but I'm starting to change my mind after some of what's ended up happening. Maybe they're unsure how to live honestly and Ash invites them along to learn. It wouldn't be all hearts and rainbows; there would definitely be distrust along the way, probably mainly from Misty. And lots of awkwardness. But it would be an interesting dynamic. And I think the motto would be kept, since it really expresses the opposite ideas of what Team Rocket as an organization is actually about and it's so iconic to the trio. "Prepare for trouble, etc." could certainly be said to bad guys instead of good guys.
Other thoughts for that verse are that the agents who escaped reform Team Rocket as Team Phoenix, with Domino/The Black Tulip leading them. Butch and Cassidy are probably among her agents. Eventually they either break Giovanni out of prison or he gets out on his own and reclaims leadership of the organization. Depending on how revenge-driven he is, he may or may not want to take it out on the trio. I'm guessing if they actually brought about the downfall of the original organization and him, he would probably want revenge on them.
Also, for some reason, the background music for the Team Rocket motto has always reminded me of Talespin music. I'm not sure why or what piece of Talespin music it makes me think of. But I'm happy it's the music in the original Japanese as well.
Then I did some voice-acting experimentation by attempting to sing Giovanni's song from the stage show. Instead of imitating the stage Giovanni's voice, I went for the anime Giovanni, since once his real voice is revealed, it's Yami Bakura's voice. LOL. And Yami Bakura was always one of my favorite voices to do. I'm happy to discover that I can still do it pretty well. Maybe even better than before. Of course, singing in that voice is another matter entirely. Much of the song was half-spoken in my rendition. And Jessie and James were pretty easy to voice, as I figured they would be.
I wish I could find my handful of old Pokemon fanart I drew. I think I mostly copied from screengrabs; I remember two of them vividly, but can't bring any others to mind. Yet I was sure I drew James four or five times, at least. I found the few screengrabs I printed off, but the fanart wasn't with them. They may be with my really old YGO fanart, if I could remember where I put that. The current folder I'm using for art goes back about ... twelve years, I think. The several years before that I removed to somewhere else. I just couldn't find my gallery on Side7 when I tried, so I wonder if they actually removed it altogether.
... Nevermind, I finally found it. Their search feature is broken, so I had to Google Search to bring up my account. **rolls eyes.** Of course, the next question is if those pictures are even still there. Since I was only allowed 100 pictures once my higher account level ran out (ugh), I had to keep removing some when I wanted to add something new, and if all the Pokemon ones were just drawing screengrabs, I might have chosen them. Let's see here.... Wow, I'd forgotten about a lot of these.... Heh, Nack/Fang and Nic as James and Jessie.... LOL. And it looks like I did remove the Pokemon ones, aside from that silly Sonic cosplay thing. So the search goes on....
It's interesting how anime helped me learn how to draw people. Before that, I was trying and trying realistic people and failing miserably. Anime helped me develop a style that's cartoonish on one hand but can generally give the realistic characters I want to draw a recognizable look. I doubt I'll ever be able to draw realistic people, but I've made peace with that because at last I can draw recognizable people, LOL. That was what I really wanted.
Also, I really hate it when I finally figure out what to do about a shopping problem and the price changes. Ugh. I forgot that Cyber Week doesn't extend through the whole weekend, so the shirt went back to regular price right when I'd decided what to do. Good thing I decided I wanted it enough to get it anyway, but it's still irksome. And since the price went up again, I should probably hold off buying it until later in the month. The only reason I was trying so hard to get it last week was because of the lowered price.
