Ha! Take that, Zorc!

So the Monster World RPG event concluded tonight. I really wanted to get through all the levels, but I figured that wasn't going to be able to happen once they got longer and more complex, because you have to keep stopping and waiting for Stamina to build up to move spaces if you don't have restoring potions. And stupidly, they barely featured the potions that restored 50 Stamina, insisting instead on mostly offering the ones that only restored 10. Those really didn't go far once the levels became bigger! However, one doesn't have to fight all monsters to win a level; one actually only needs to defeat the boss monster. So when it got to the 11th hour I decided that for the last four or five levels, I would only beat the monsters I encountered on a direct path to the boss monster. If I had any time or Stamina left over when it was all done, I'd explore some more and get some of the things I'd passed over.
Well, with a combination of waiting for Stamina to build up by logging on to the game earlier in the day, being able to level up here and there, conserving the potions until I really, really needed them, and following direct paths to the boss monsters, I made it to the final level and the third battle with Zorc. Amusingly, he plays his own card. I must say, I far prefer the card design to the anime and manga design of Zorc in season 5. I got trounced once, but I had enough Stamina that I could face him four times. The second time, I actually beat him, thanks in part to his card backfiring on him. LOL. I recorded that duel. I don't know what happened to the ones I had saved, but they were gone for some reason, and I hadn't known the game deleted them after a certain amount of time. But regardless, I had room for that duel now. I tried recording it onto my SD card, but I was holding the tablet funny, so I may want to record it again.
In any case, that felt really good, especially since I was playing as Yami Bakura (of course). I loved having Yami Bakura fight against his former enslaver. And it gave me plunnies for the story I may eventually write in full where Yami Bakura does exactly that. They may play a duel before the physical fight happens.
I debated what I'd do with the Zorc card, since I won it during the course of the event. Since I insist that my Yami Bakura is the post-series antihero from my fic verse, I doubt he'd use it. But if I ever decide to play as Yami Marik, I bet he would, especially since in my post-series verse he's taken up with Zorc (although that hasn't been revealed in the stories as of yet). I'd really only want to use Yami Marik to fight characters I don't really like, though. I don't think I could bear playing as him and fighting Yami Bakura, for instance, unless Yami Bakura beat him. Heh.
I don't recall when I last put up the link, but I've been drawing more. http://meromeroyui.deviantart.com

Date: 2018-08-31 04:52 am (UTC)Yes, I was thrilled that I actually made it to the final Zorc battle, and then actually beat him! (Sometimes I try switching to other characters, but I always end up deciding it's better to work with the deck I spent the most time fixing up, which is Yami Bakura's. For this event, I never had any question that I would use Yami Bakura all the way through.)
Definitely!
Yes, so much fun! If you decide you're ready for a new game, it would be awesome for you to join Duel Links!
