So the mini-Toys R Uses, Geoffrey's Toy Box, have opened! And ohmygosh, I never would have guessed this from the description of a Midwest retailer since that sounded like it was mostly or only in the Midwest, but they partnered with Kroger! Yesyesyes! That means Smith's picked them up! Not the one here in town, unfortunately, but others that are very close! I saw the participating stores list and they're all over!
The downside is that for now they're only offering a few brands and toys that were exclusive to Toys R Us and are more the kind of thing you see in educational toy stores, but the products do look really interesting and I'm tempted to buy something. If this venture is a success, it could lead to the brand fully resurrecting as the big toy store we love. And then hopefully a lot of people who lost their jobs because of the idiotic bankruptcy would get hired back. (If they'd even want to be hired back; a lot of them are understandably bitter.)
I was going to talk about other things, but as soon as I saw this news I got so excited I think I mostly forgot what else I was going to say. Everything else seems inconsequential.
